@OP (Iroca), maybe it would help a bit if you told us more about what exactly you have in mind about this type of mod.
"Real-life mod" in itself doesn't really say much, and for me personally, that can even be more better-looking bodyskin/faceskin mods, but probably not for most other people. There are some mods, that slightly modify some existing in-game mechanics, for example, I saw a mod on MTS that prevents your sims from losing relationship stats with other sims in town. Not sure if that's what you also want to see.
Also, if the modifications that you are seeking with real-life mods are too "heavy", keep in mind that these mods are not likely going to be made by anyone. At that point, (and as rough as it may sound), you may want to look at other simulations, like this "Second Life" for instance - though you need to pay quite a sum of money to fully enjoy that one.
There used to be an open-source project named "La Vida", which was/is supposed to be similar to the Sims franchise, but I haven't followed that project for a long time now. Or maybe the whole project was cancelled ? I really don't know. But what I wanted to say is this: if the changes you want to see in that game are too fundamental, then it is probably not the right game at all for you. Again, it may sound rough, but it all boils down to that.
For my part, I am grateful that someone even undertook the task of cracking the game and making it available to the people. Everything else can come when the time is ripe.
