Today I lost EVERYTHING on The Sims 4, some amazing CC included. (All I'm really bothered about, really WhatDidUJustCallMe?)

I had done something stupid: Renamed the folder to try and fix an error I was getting without moving it out of the EA folder. And even though I had called "Blegh" TS4, still read and and reset the damn folder.

Let this be a reminder, always keep a copy of your documents/EA/TS4 folder.... :'(

I once accidentally deleted my Mods-folder in TS3, and had to re-download my stuff, which took quite a while. Some of the CC is lost for good, because the creator took them off the net, but that's a different story.

Also, I once nearly lost my whole The Sims 3-folder, when my old hard-drive was failing. It took ages to boot up, and I often ended up with BSOD's. WhatDidUJustCallMe?  I somehow managed to copy the folder to my external drive and hence save it. It was not just about all the mods and CC there, it was also about the savefiles, which I worked on for...quite a time.

Indeed, make sure to backup that folder with your saves, mods, etc. regularly. And to a safe place. You never know what will happen: either an 'accident', a technical failure, or something else.

If I backed up my CC all the time I'd end up with outdated mods eventually. It's good to get rid of them now and then and start fresh.

I have around 200 for Skyrim and 7 GB or so for The Sims 2.
