MSVCR120.dll error Empty MSVCR120.dll error

Post by Guest Mon 29 Jun 2015, 03:23

I downloaded the Sims 4 and Get Back to Work torrents and followed the instructions. I added every folder to the library in my Norton antivirus. It gave me the error so I downloaded and applied the fix but I'm still getting the error. I downloaded the vcredist files I was supposed to. I just don't know what more I can do to get it to work.

Hello,

If this error message is about this mysterious .dll file, try searching for the .dll, here:
http://www.dll-files.com/

After finding the file there and downloading it, extract the file from the .zip archive, so that you end up with the .dll file itself. If you double-click on the .zip file, Windows should be able to open it. Otherwise, feel free to use another program for extracting, like WinRAR.

After you got hold of the .dll, copy the file to the location C:\Windows\System32. if you have a 64-bit Windows system, ALSO make sure to copy the file into C:\Windows\SysWOW64.

Then re-start the game. See if that works out. If it doesn't, I'm out of explanations for now, sorry.

Have you checked if you have all available Windows updates downloaded + installed ? The .dll you downloaded may be outdated or something. I only used that site myself actually once for a different game (Dragon Age: Origins), but that worked luckily. I can't really tell either what may be wrong in your case.

Also, try re-downloading the crack-only here:
http://bit.ly/1dL2nT0

Copy & paste those files (inside the .RAR) into C:\Program files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Game\Bin. When prompted, overwrite the existing files. Then re-start the game, and see if that shows any improvement.

Good luck !

Hi. Just curious, did you install the Get to Work EP in a separate folder from the original game? That's what I did, I searched for all these DLL files and in the end got the same error message as you. I uninstalled the EP and reinstalled it into the main game's folder, and afterwards it works perfectly. Just don't go online, and keep Origin off otherwise it won't load.

I ended up buying the game because I was sick of all the errors. I'm hoping I can still use the crack to install the Get To Work expansion though.

Buying the game was unnecessary, as the files from our base game and the files from legit game are technically identical. The difference in the end are those crack-files that are often picked up as 'virusses' (see the files from the link I posted).

Yes, you can apply the files from "Get to Work" to the install location of the base game, but if you haven't configured your anti-virus systems properly you are going to run into the same problem (e.g. did you also turn off Windows Defender ?). And buying ONLY the base game isn't going to get you anywhere: as long as you use cracked content (like DLC/expansions), you will always face the problem that the crack is picked up as a 'virus'.

For a "worryless" Sims 4 experience you would need to buy ALL Sims 4 games and DLC.
