Custom Content that is not made for cracked version.

There is a hair mesh that I REALLY want to use, but creator has said it cannot be used with cracked version. I tried anyways and the mod says it is installed in game but does not show in CAS (but all my other ones do). Is there a way to edit the file so it will work with the cracked game or am I just gonna be stuck?

Hello and welcome to the forum,

That would be the first time I heard from such a thing. I consider it more likely that this mesh was made with the latest available patch version of Sims 4, but the current cracked games/Ultimate fix only support the game patch version 1.7.65.1020.

Meaning, you would need to wait until a new Ultimate fix (crack) has been released, in order to test it for sure.

Honestly though, I doubt the thing with the cracked Sims 4 version. The crack bypasses the requirement of Origin only, but beyond that, it does not seem to affect any in-game mechanics as of now. But of course, that's just an assumption from me. We will need to see what this looks like when a new crack is released.

ah, I should have seen this before posting on that other thread!

Anyway, I do have this issue too. It was specified on the creator's note that the said cc won't work for pirated versions of the game. It's my first time encountering this issue and have tried all means possible but the cc still wouldn't show up in-game. It's really odd.

The cc is so good that for it not to work makes me want to cry over a cup of Tea 4

I find it highly unlikely that those CC creators go the extra "yards" and actually download + install a cracked Sims 4 game, just to test their CC, and to state in the end "that the CC doesn't work with cracked Sims 4 games".

Feel free to point us to those CC items (the sites where you can download those), and I myself will have a look at them. Indeed, as coolcandy said, they might just have been made with the newer patch version.

Exactly why I find it odd that the author specified that the said cc wont work on a pirated version of the game.

Since external links are not allowed, I got the cc from The Sims Resource. That cc is called Stealthic - Persona (Male). Check the Creator Notes, it's where it states that the cc won't show up on pirated versions of the game.

Also, are CC's made with a newer patch incompatible with older patch versions?

Yes, he specifically states it's because pirated games can't be updated to current level patch
"Also make sure you are updated to the latest sims version, (which can't be done with pirated games), or it won't show in game."

Sometimes they are - very often with Sims 4. It happens if they change game code that might get referenced or used by CC. I just wait until it gets to a more stable point, too many people complain about CC breaking their game after update.

A very 'unlucky' and awkward way to phrase requirements (for CC), that only invites confusion, but alright. At least this mystery seems to be resolved now.
