Windows 10 update
I'm not sure this is the right section, but yeah.
Windows 10 became available today, and it is free update for all 7/8 users. I've been using G4TW amazing 8.1 download for almost a year now, and it works perfectly.
My question is - will the update detect our software as genuine one? So far, I didn't have any problems whatsoever with that, but apparently if it detected that one is not using genuine copy of Win, you will get, well, non genuine vers. of Win10.
Thanks for all the work, it is greatly appreciated. (:

Hello,
Personally, I would wait until a crack/activator for Windows 10 surfaces on the major torrent sites (or on G4TW here), just to be safe. But the more important question in my opinion is: do you absolutely NEED to upgrade to Windows 10, at this point ? If your Windows 8.1 seems to run pretty stable, there would be not much practical reason for you to "upgrade", but then I yet have to familiarize myself with Windows 10, so I can't tell much about it.
Just remember in general: don't try fixing something that isn't broken, and keep the status quo unless you have more information. In your case it means you should stick to Windows 8 for the moment.

Re: Windows 10 update
Very well put, Carlos. I am using Windows 10 since a few months ago, and I am liking it since then (not the earlier versions, that had too many bugs), and also Office 2016. I got an activator (I am not responsible for it, neither is the Forum in any manner, since it is NOT OUR STUFF) from R@1n (ra1nb0w.me you will find if you look for it) and it works for both my Windows 10 Enterprise x64 EN-US AND Office 2016 Pro Plus with Visio and Project...
So far, I have been getting a very nice experience and I got not much to complain (still a couple of bugs here and there, but it's actually much better since I installed the final version of Win 10 Enterprise a night ago).
I wish you all the luck, and maybe you should do what Carlos says, if you don't feel a very strong need for any of the new stuff you get with the new system (which is not all that much, honestly), I think you should keep using Windows 8.1 for now, since it's from a trusted source (G4TW) and it is working fine for you. If and when you need to format your hard drive (I usually do it every few months, whenever the system acts up on me too much), THEN it would be a time to consider installing Windows 10 from scratch on it.
Anyway, have fun!!!

Do these replies answer your question, @Komet Blu ? If yes, do you have any other question for now ?
And should there indeed be any problems with the "Windows genuine"-thing later on, you should still be able to use an activator for Windows 10...

Re: Windows 10 update
@Komet Blue
I can confirm after activating Windows 8.1 from the Microsoft Toolkit that Windows 10 will show as activated. However, if you have activated Office 2013 Professional Plus, this is likely to be botched and is proving hard to fix. I'm working on trying to find a fix now and using the new Microsoft Toolkit Beta 2.6 that recently dropped.

Re: Windows 10 update
I am using the Rainbow activator for both Office 2016 and Windows 10 Enterprise, working perfectly (it also works with a few older versions too).
