Into the Future-Time Machine glitch? [SOLVED]
Well, okay bee playing the fully installed SIMS 3 full, that is with all expansions as well.
Now this I have been playing with the 'Into the Future' expansion lastly installed for quite sometime.
And I do play with some Mods installed.
All of a sudden now, no Sim can choose to travel through the Time portal to the Future at all.
The Time Traveler can be summond, but He never NOW goes into anything where He gives you the Almanac and having the Time Remote doesn't help either.
I tried starting a new game, and same issue.
My only guess is one of several things with this, I recently encrypted my hard drive and some files 'might' have gotten corrupted.
However I do not think so.
The other is, I updated some of the Mods from NRASS and I am thinking as someone had a simular issue that maybe the Story Progression Mod may be not working properly.
Any thoughts or ideas on this????
Thanks

Hello,
The best way to test this, is to test the game without mods. Simply remove the Mods folder from your "The Sims 3" folder in "Documents" and see if that does the trick. If that's the case, you can always revert to the older mod versions from Nraas and check back later for updated versions.

For the future, you could also try selling/deleting those non-working objects, and then a buy a new one. If no mods are causing issues, then deleting and re-buying the (broken) object often helps already. No need to start a new game, just for a broken object.
Another thing...is that you should not update the mods, unless you need to (e.g. immediately after patching the game to a newer version), or if you can pinpoint a problem down to a specific mod. I myself am using an older batch of NRAAS mods, that came out shortly after the 1.67 patch was released (way back). After trying to use "more updated" NRAAS mods, that supposedly fixed bugs, my game did not load up at all. Other people may not have this issue, but I did. So I reverted back to the older batch of mods.
What to learn from this ? Never fix anything (here: use newer mods) unless you absolutely have to, and you know what you are doing.

Re: Into the Future-Time Machine glitch? [SOLVED]
Thanks for the feed back. I did resolve the issue...
I had been using the 'Traveler' Mod.
It does allow you to thus travel any Neighbor/Town including 'Oasis'!!!
When I traveled to Oasis, Mr Time Traveler straightened up and I was able to obtain the 'Almanac'!
This, later allowed me to use the Portal if I choose to do so, or just Use the 'travel' mode instead.
However, on a side not, I made sure that I 'unchecked' everywhere where there might be 'story progression'.
BTW, I play this full game on an Old Sony 32bit. with Intel chipset and XP,lol.
I works most of the time, until I get too many Relatives, or custom Sims, also I make sure I save about every hour or after some major event.
I think I have my mods and extra CC tweaked now the way I want and probably will not download too much more.
Cheers!
