I don't understand why seeding request threads are reserved for torrents with less than 2 seeds. I'm downloading Dragon Age: Origins, I've done everything possible to speed up uTorrent, it's alternating between 1 and 2 seeds and it's taking forever. Even at 4-5 seeds it was unfathomably slow.

Hello @reggaelizard,

That is indeed a valid point. In theory, if the 2 seeders have a slow upload speed, you could indeed end up with the scenario that you are currently facing. I'll assume you also tried forwarding your router ports ? I guess the "seeding policy" stems from a time in which there were not so many G4TW releases in total, and everything could be seeded quite easily. Since the launch of G4TW, the list of download items (see this here) has grown, and it has therefore become quite difficult for us to seed everything. The oldest G4TW releases, such as Dragon Age: Origins, may have indeed become 'abandoned', as unfortunate as it sounds. Moreover, the general priorities and needs of the forum have changed quite a bit too, since then. Nowadays, the forum is for the most part about giving support on Sims-games; luckily, these games have enough seeders. Although I do find your point valid, please also try and understand the issue that I just pointed out. Feel free to wait for @Admin's take on the discussion here too, of course.

As said, the Dragon Age: Origins release is very old. It is a big sign of trust and appreciation (in G4TW) from your side, that you even try and download this item, in my opinion. Smile  However, in this particular case you might want to consider going for a more up-to-date compilation of the game, from another uploader on the torrent networks. There are pirated versions of the game that include the latest patches and all DLC. The G4TW version is on an old patch version, and has no DLC if I recall correctly. The item was released in 2010 I believe, when there were no DLCs at all.

I can't suggest anything specific in terms of other torrents, but I do recall speaking to Admin about this very game, and the possibility of a re-release with all latest patches and DLC. However (and as stated above), priorities have shifted somewhat...we'll see what the future holds though.

Hey Carlos, thank you very much for replying. It makes sense that those two seeders might not be very active and I totally understand your point about popular torrents – this is indeed my #1 source for anything Sims related Very Happy

Also, turns out it's actually pretty easy to find Dragon Age torrents, so I guess you can consider this particular issue solved.

Hi reggaelizard,

I just want to add this: the reason it explicitly states that only torrents with less than 2 seeders will be re-seeded, is to prevent people from requesting well-seeded torrents like (all) The Sims games. Those are already well-seeded. If the download speed is still low, it's usually caused by a misconfiguration on the client side. (See THIS)

Usually I just know which torrents aren't very popular (and therefore will have less seeders than others), so if people request those, I usually don't make a big deal out of the amount of seeders. Therefore if you like, we can still help re-seeding the Dragon Age: Origins torrent.
