Can't install download in launcher. [SOLVED]

i dont know if this is related to the game not being registered on my account. I am signed into my account in-game, there is a register option and clicking it asks for a cd key, of which none I have since I deleted all the readme files. I didnt think I needed them, I typed in each cd-key for appropriate expansions and successfully installed everything and figured that was the end of that.

anyway after launcher to select my download and install it, getting the "successful install message" for the one lot/building I am trying to add, it does show up in "installed content tab".....but it never works, each time I start the launcher, it always shows up back in the downloads tab and NOT in installed content like I never did anything. I don't see it in-game either.

Hello and welcome to the forum,

I believe your issue with the on-installing lot is independent from the other issue with "registering" the game (if you pirated all your Sims 3 games, you shouldn't be able to register them anyway, I guess). But let's see.

As for your lot/building, please have a look at @Edin Eldi's guide here:

And try applying the "fix" described there. After which you try re-installing that lot. Good luck !

rats didnt work still nothing will ever show up in "installed content" tab when I re-start launcher........when i install it from there it will show up, but never works.

well at least now I know being un-registered has nothing to do with custom content, for some reason I thought it might, and that cd-keys from games4theworld install would work. Is it possible having sims install on E drive instead of C cause a problem?

The actual install location of the game shouldn't have an influence on that. Can you try installing other lots or buildings, for the moment, and see if the same issue occurs ?

I also had an issue like that back then, that several things wouldn't install with the launcher. I ended up skipping those items eventually...

cant believe I didn't try that earlier, guess I thought there would be an error message with the install if the launcher was having a problem because of the specific download

but yeah, tried one other lot and it looks to install and show up in-game fine. Guess I just won't be using that one, its too bad I really wanted to. thanks for the help

Some items may have errors of sorts, hence they can't be installed in the launcher. Since your original problem seems solved, I will close the topic.
