Quick question. [SOLVED]

It's OK.   Indeed, it sounds logical for most outsiders to just post in a "general thread". But we actually prefer people opening separate topics, primarily to make things look less messy, and more organized. If you look back at the "must read" topic for The Sims 3, you will notice a bunch of thank-you-posts. If people started posting their help requests there, it would be a total mess, and it would also be hard to follow such a mega-thread then. 

Also note that the opening post by the Admin in that thread has a notice at the end which is in bold red color. Feel free to re-read it.
