Post by Guest Mon 01 Feb 2016, 07:16

I downloaded everything from games4theworld (The Sims 3- The Complete Collection.rar) however when I was beginning to follow the installation guide I got stuck on the first step with an error. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello and welcome to the forum @JACBOY7,

Did you use WinRAR for extracting the download of the Complete Collection ? (please only use WinRAR). And make sure to make an empty folder somewhere, and extract all contents of the .RAR, into the folder. After the extraction is done (which can take a little while) navigate inside the folder and (re-)run the setup.

If you already did that, could you tell us what error message(s) you are encountering ? Smile

Hey@Carlos

So I was able to get past my original problem, however after installing the base game, applying the patch, applying my desired expansions (some asked for activation codes and some didn't), and finally replacing the files in the sims 3 base game folder with the ones provided in the crack folder, I was ready to play and then bam I got this error message! I am requesting your assistance once more thanks for everything up to this point!

Hi there,

Do you happen to get an Error During Startup error when trying to launch the game via the Game Launcher?
If so, please follow these steps to fix that error: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t6052-there-was-an-error-during-startup-please-see-the-log-for-more-details-fix

I knew that my endeavor to play sims 3 in all its glory would be a serious undertaking, one in which I would face many trials, but you have led me through each roadblock and for that I am grateful. As a last request would you be so kind as to tell me which files I would need to place on an external hardrive in order to have portable access to the game and its expansions?

Sorry for the late reply,

Do you absolutely need or want the game to be portable ? Because by default, it is NOT portable, unlike our The Sims 4 release, for instance (and many other modern pirated games).

That said, I recall something that another user posted here in the past:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t10330-tool-portable-the-sims-3

But I have never used that tool myself. It looks very nice though, In the end, feel free to give it a try if you like, but I myself cannot give more support on this specific tool. Good luck again !
