The Sims 4 base game loading issue Empty The Sims 4 base game loading issue

Hi,

I'm getting the following error message when clicking to load the game, despite having followed all of the video tutorial, turning off my anti-virus etc.

"The dynamic library "rld.dll" failed to initialize (E0).


Is anyone able to advise?

Hello and welcome to the forum,


Please have a look at this topic here:

As for the "Ultimate fix" mentioned there, please do not use it - this time. Instead, if you installed the stuff from G4TW, keep the installation order of the items as follows:

1) TS4 base game
2) Get to Work
3) Get together
4) "Hotfix" (see this here)


Could you also tell us what Windows version you are using right now ? Smile

Does this mean I need to reinstall the base game or will I be OK just installing the two expansions and the hotfix?

That's a difficult question actually. For some people it helps if they uninstall the base game (and re-install it). Other people can just add the expansions and the hotfix. You can try either way.

Did you also make sure that Windows Defender isn't messing with your game ? If you are running Windows 10, you should configure exclusions for Windows Defender too - even if you are using a third-party anti-virus there.

If you are running Windows 7 or 8, you can simply turn off Windows Defender - but that doesn't work in Windows 10.
