Game crashes during CAS

When trying to create a sim, everything runs perfectly well. When I choose an aspiration, however, the game crashes.

Do you have any mods installed ? If you have maybe some of the mods is not compatible with the current version of the sims you have.

Hello and welcome to the forum @devnicole,
Did you install only the base game of The Sims 4, or any of the other DLC too ? In case of the latter, keep in mind that the correct install order is this here.
1) TS4 Base game
2) Get to Work
3) Get together
4) Hotfix (see this here)
If you did something wrong there, just re-apply the files, starting from Get to Work, followed by Get together, and finally the hotfix. Then try the game again. Good luck !
