Help, I am so confused!!!! [SOLVED]

OK, so I have been up and at work since 4 this morning, so words are failing me... I am going to try to attempt the get this to make sense with as little errors as possible. Sad

Ok, so I downloaded a version of the sims 4 with all expansions from another site a while back, (before I found you guy's) The game works great, no problems. But I was greedy and wanted Get to work.. and Voila.. I ran across you guys!! WHOOT
Downloaded get to work and everything was fantastic, until I now need to update it. I currently have version 1.13.106.1010 and I cant find the updates. so these are my questions...
1.) Do I have to download the patches in order? I know there are quite a few, so in order to get an updated game do I have to download them order?
2.) The ultimate fix you guys have, will that work on my game? Since I didn't download it from here?
3.) Where can I find the links to download them?

I understand that you guys don't have the most up to date patch, trust me.. I have been all over these forums, but anything is better than nothing. Please help!!!! Help

And as good as your download is, I would rather not have to start all over because I have some sims I really like.

Hello and welcome to the forum @Jasonya311 !

Thanks a lot for your encouragement ! Smile

And no, you don't need the Ultimate fix (this time). You can keep the Sims 4 installation that you got from another source. I'll assume this other download already includes "Get to Work" though.

Then you take Games4theworld's "Get together"-expansion and copy + paste the files and folders of it, over your Sims 4 install directory. Replace all existing files and folders when prompted.

Finally, apply the Hotfix. See this topic here:

Now, I am confused as to what you mean by take the get together expansion and packs and paste the files and folders over it, will that help with my current dilemma? Even though the original download already had get together?

I think I may have just answered my own question there? However just humor me, lol. I blame it on the lack of sleep.
And where do I find the link to download the get together expansion. I really am not usually this dumb, but I do confess my friend, I am terrified of ruining my game by messing something up because I didn't follow directions. And to reinstall takes FOREVER, and I just built a really awesome wedding chapel I don't want to rebuild, LOL...

Wait, I may have misunderstood your message before. Since you said you downloaded something "earlier already", I assumed you may have wanted to know about Get together, instead of Get to Work. Smile

So you already have "Get together" from the download on that other source ? If so, then most likely "Get to Work" is already included there too. Have you checked your game for the features of "Get to Work" ?

I guess you are fine with your current downloaded stuff, there is nothing else for you to do at this point.

Hey, Yeah When I downloaded the sims 4 it came with everything BUT Get to Work, so I had to download Get to Work from you guys. It's all been working beautifully, I am just on the hunt for the patches that EA has been putting out. Mainly because I am addicted to TSR for custom content, and a lot of there stuff is made with the patch in place. So I am searching for where to download as much of the current patches as possible. I have all the games that TS4 has to offer at this point I just need updates. Sad

OK, then download and apply "Get to Work", from us here:

Then you will also need to download our "Get together" download from the same page. And at the end comes the hotfix that I mentioned above already. This will be the only way to get all cracked patches that are available, in your case. Good luck !

ok, I already have yall's get to work, so now I will download the get together and then replace my files, If I can find them (in my already downloaded files) .. I really hope its mostly self explanatory... lol.

ok, ok... the get together is just about finished downloading... however...
When I downloaded TS4 with all expansions (minus get to work, which I got from y'all a while back) from the other source it placed the files "C:\Users\username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4"

but when I downloaded the Get to Work from here it had me create a new folder here..
"C:\Program Files (x86)\The Sims 4"

So my question is, in which folder do I replace the files? and how do I replace them? When I download mods I have to place them under documents, the original location.

Also, Do I actually have to locate the files in the folder and copy over them or is it a matter of just reinstalling the game?
I'm sorry for all the questions, I so don't want to mess this up. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the help.

If you install Sims 4 DLC, you always copy and paste the stuff into C:\Program files (x86)\The Sims 4. There, you replace all existing files.

Did you make sure to keep the install order as follows ? Get to Work -> Get together -> Hotfix ? And if you still find DLC stuff missing, try moving the install folder "The Sims 4", from Program files (x86), directly under the desktop. Then try running the game again.

ok, yeah remember I already had get to work from yall from a previous date, so today I installed get together.. installed it, replaced existing files then the hotfix, and replaced existing files. went to load my game only to find my dlc, (spa day etc.) is missing. I am currently installing the ultimate fix in hopes it will replace whats missing, however with me getting the original base game from another source I don't know if it will crash it or fix it... and do I just try and replace all the files in the folder when it installs?

as far as moving it to my desk top I did that just now, however it popped up..

(hang on I am trying to figure out how to take a picture of my desktop)

Of course, if you move the install folder (to the desktop), then the old shortcut won't work anymore, since it points to the "old" install location. Just delete your old shortcut. Smile

Once you moved the install folder under the desktop, go inside The Sims 4\Game\Bin and start the game with the TS4.exe. You can also create a new shortcut, from that file.

I remember the days from urban terror when you could hand over your computer to someone else via remote access.... that would be so much easier... because right now I could scream. So.. I did what you said and you were right (of course) and it opened... however my dlc is still missing. Help, I am so confused!!!! [SOLVED] 4241093300

The ultimate fix is finally done downloading, and my poor husband is going to be furious with me, be because his ps4 game has been updating for 6 hours now because I have been hogging our crappy internet all day, oops...

but back to what I was saying, the ultimate ix is finally done... do you think that would help get my dlc back?? or will it crash my game since I originally got that base game, and all dlc (minus get to work and get together) from another source?

I am losing my mind here, but THANK YOU for walking me through this mess I have created!!!

So I went ahead and installed the ultimate fix patch, I mean I figured if it screwed it up did it really matter ( actually there was a lot more cussing under the breath and some out loud) , but either way I had butchered my game until I was going to have to reinstall it anyways.. BUT...
IT WORKED!!! I followed the directions to a T and hoped for the best... AND Happy B-day!

Nice to hear it worked out. Smile

And yes, nowadays we still help people via remote access, if necessary. For that we are using "TeamViewer" (see this here). If you have any more questions in the future, don't hesitate to open a new topic on here.
