Sims 3 "????????????" and Giberish in the base game installer. Help! [SOLVED]
Hello,
I originally found out about Games4TheWorld after downloading Sims 3 Complete torrent from ThePirateBay (Forum won't let me post the link)
After completing the downloaded, extracting rar, and opening the "Sims3Setup" located in "The Sims 3 Folder" I am met with this (Pictures attached)
I followed instructions in this post "Unwanted Language During Installation Fix"
This didn't do anything to fix my issue. Has anyone seen this problem before. I am currently re downloading the file through Games4TheWorld's mirror thinking maybe ThePirateBay torrent might be corrupt. Any help is appreciated.
EDIT: I ended up identifying the problem, as well as finding a solution. What is causing this issue is previously having a different cracked version of the game installed. This cracked version is made by [R.G. Mechanics] a Russian cracking group (I'm assuming). I had originally installed this R.G. Mechanics game version before I came across the Games4TheWorld game version. I'm assuming that when you use R.G. Mechanics installer it adds Russian to your registry for Sims 3, causing the installer to appear with this weird text.
The Solution: Delete any instance of The Sims 3 in your computer (I even had to go into the uninstall window though control panel and get rid of the blank Sims 3 files left over from the old R.G. Mechanics game version). Open regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> WOW6432Node -> Then delete "Sims" folder. Restart your computer and the installer should now function normally.

Side-note: These R.G. Mechanics versions are indeed heavily modified, and will usually cause problems later on. (When you want to add expansion packs, for example)
That's why we highly recommend using something like Your Uninstaller! Pro from www.games4theworld.org to uninstall games and software. (Use the "Super Mode")
This will also remove all leftover files, including the Registry.
