Somehow Unusual request
So as far as I am playing Sims 3 CC I have created male young adult and without cheating I am making him master at every skill withought cheats and brain enhancement , and you see, I still don't like how he looks,so I have downloaded sims 3 custom sim, and my request is: Is there any way to change my current male sim appearance without going all this full body surgėry, skill loss, celebrity status loss, voice change, relationships... I mean only look for my current sim (It's like game Minecraft, only skin change, nothing more nothing less) BTW my sim, and downloaded one is both young adults

Re: Somehow Unusual request
Hello,
Well, yes, you can change your current sim, but not in the way you're suggesting.
You can edit your sim in CAS even after you've already played with the character. You'll need MasterController (the mod is safe), and with the mod installed you can edit your sim in CAS, and you could edit everything you want, just like when you first created your sim.
Once installed, you can bring it up as follows:
Click your sim
Go to "Nraas" in the pie menu, then "MasterController"
From the MasterController menu, go to "Advanced", and there, find "Edit in CAS"
As always, save your game before attempting this. I have never seen it go wrong myself, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

If you really want to "switch" your sim, you could cheat yourself the skills, job level, celebrity status, etc. Mods useful for these things are NRAAS MasterController and NRAAS DebugEnabler too. Now I know this isn't a very elegant way to achieve skills, but it works.

Unfortunately, that's the only idea I have about how to solve your concern... But sure, do keep us posted in the topic here if you like!

About what exactly? The loading time(s) or about the food in the fridge? If it's about the loading times, there isn't much you can do about it. Some people say turning off these interactive loading screens can help prevent game freezes or something (?)...

Hello,
Please, if you have anything to add after sending your post, anything at all, please edit yopur post rather than starting a new reply
Let's get back to your loading problems first. You mention packages, how many do you have, and how large are they (in filesize)? You may be able to do something there like, merging some of your packages. This is not recommended for mods, but fine for CC, as long as there are no conflicts between your CCs.
You can merge them like this, but using CC magic can also improve your loadingtimes. CC magic will take care of your sims3packs as well, if you have any, with the exception of worldfiles.
If you want to merge the packages manually instead, please be mindfuil of the limitations and do not exceed the filesize as mentioned in the instructions.
Yes, we are happy to help in any way we can, feel free to keep adding questions to this thread as long as it is open.
Now, you mention freezing after you buy scrap. Does this only happen after you have bought scrap, or any other time that you're trying to activate to inventing table? If it only happens afgter buying scrap, you may be able to remedy the problem by having your sim collect scrap at the junkyard. It's worth a try.

Re: Somehow Unusual request
I'm not surprised about the lag, you have over 6GB on packagefiles !
Try this:
Rename your folder The Sims 3 in My Documents - Electronic Arts to The Sims 3_old
Start the game - a whole now folder The Sims 3 will be created - you've temporarily lost all homemade Sims, houses etc. and your CC.
See if the game still lags.
To return to your original folder, delete the newly created folder The Sims 3 and rename The Sims 3_old to The Sims 3 again.

Re: Somehow Unusual request
Simply an overkill of CC which is quite obvious as you downloaded each and every article of the Sims Store.
Try to reduce it to those articles you really need.
If you have more than 3 GB RAM memory on your computer, try the 4GB Patch to give the Sims access to more memory. The Sims 3 only use 2 GB by default.
I'm sure I saw this patch on G4TW but can't find it anymore.
If needed send me a Private message, I can give you an outside link then.

Re: Somehow Unusual request
That is not too outrageous actually, as that folder does have all your saves, content etc.
Another thing that you could try, is to "start over". The longer you use a particular savegame, the larger it becomes, and the more difficult it is to load. Down the road, your savegame could become impossible to load at all.
You can move all of your residents to a new town using Porter, and that mod will keep all of your Sims' relationships intact, as well as their careers.
Only thing you will have to do is, save any lots you built yourself to the library, and place them manually upon entering the new neighbourhood. Those families stay intact, but each family is placed randomly.
It's certainly not ideal, but to me, the best way available to move an entire population to a new neighbourhood.
I've used this particular mod a lot over the past 2 years, as I was building and improving a world and I didn't want to "start over" with new residents all the time. Eventually I was at "beta 8" and on my 4th generation.
If you do try to use this mod, don't be alarmed if packing and unpacking them takes a while. It depends on how many Sims you're moving, and how powerful your machine really is. If you have a mid to high range computer, you should be able to pack 250 residents with ease.

Re: Somehow Unusual request
Maybe it's useful to increase your virtual memory (Page File).
When you run a dxdiag (Keep windowskey pressed down and type on R. In the window type dxdiag and press enter)
On the first page you'll see Page file (or virtal memory) showing howmuch used and howmuch available.
Note down the howmuch used.
Now start your sims game in a window and do a new dxdiag, look at the used figure.
On my computer:
Without any real programs running 2452 MB used (mainly because of my graphic card)
With Sims 3 running it used 4105 MB

Have you ever given Razer Cortex (GameBooster) a try? See the online guide here:
http://dl.razerzone.com/master-guides/RazerCortex/v5.0/CortexOMG-ENG.pdf
While you shouldn't necessarily expect miracles, using this tool could help a little bit with improving game performance too.

If the 'next topic' is also about The Sims 3, it may be easier to stick to this thread here. Of course, if it's about another game, then yes, you can/should open a different thread.
