Hello and welcome to the Forum @DuchessofPugs,
You need to make sure that your anti-virus software and Windows Defender don't interfere with the game. See this topic here:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t18501-unable-to-start-initialization-error-at-startup-updated-on-11-9-2015
You will need to figure out how to set these "exclusions" properly, on the security software you have installed. And then you re-apply the files for "Get to Work". Is that the only DLC you have installed, by the way, or did you install the other Sims 4 items as well?

Indeed, you should make sure to configure all your exclusions properly, and then you can re-apply all the DLC files. Do keep us posted about your progress!
