Can't install Sims 2 base game

I downloaded the files and extracted them with Winrar. When I try to install the base game, it asks me for a code. I entered the code in the installastion guide and it says it is an invalid code. I tried again with other codes but the same thing happened.

You should see an "attachment" in that post - please download it. That is the install guide for the complete collection of TS2. Have another look at the base game & install code there. Please make sure to type it correctly; all serial numbers are working. I also assume you downloaded the torrent from either the official G4TW-downloads-site or alternatively from the G4TW Piratebay-account ?

I have successfully installed the sims 2 and it loads when opened. However, if I try to make a new family or play an existing one, the game crashes. I have attempted to delete my cache files, but my game doesn't appear to have a Sims 2 folder, rather a folder for each EP and the double deluxe folder. These folders don't contain any cache files for me to delete.

I merged your topics; please only stick in one (1) thread, for all your support questions about a game/software, unless you are told otherwise by a Moderator.   Cache files in The Sims 2 work a bit differently; have you seen this here?
