SIMS 3 BASE GAME-Unable to start game and also cant install World Adventures expansion

i have sims 3 all the expansion and packages installed and running on my PC, but since my mobo has gone for a replacement i am left with my macbook pro.......

i tried installing sims 3 base game, installed, followed the guide to copy paste the files.....

tried starting the game, it gives me an error:
Unable to Start Game
Service initialization failed(0X0175dcbb)

So i looked on the net, got nothing

then i tried installing the next expansion which is world adventures.....but then it wont
it would give me an error not compatible or updateable.....

can someone please tell me what's wrong.....
