Problem changing language. [SOLVED]
Hello!
Today I thought it would be fun to change my Sims language to French. I was not too bright, so I didn't check the forum before doing it. Instead, I went to the folder of the base game, where the installation guide is, because I remembered it had some instructions on how to change the language. There is a folder called Language Changer, and all I had to do was double click the language I wanted.
So, I did exactly this, and it worked. As in, my game is now in French.
However, it seems to have deleted my save file (?), like all the households I had made and the families are no longer there. It was acting like if it was the very first time I opened the game, even taking me to the Create a Sim tutorial, and telling me the info of all the expansion packs.
So I guess my question is: Is changing the language supposed to reset everything? And, is there any way in which I can undo this, and get all my families back? When I realized that I didn't have my old families, I closed the game in fear that a new save file would complicate things further.
That's all for now.
(Oh, and I have followed all the steps to correctly installing the sims, with the last download I made being the City Living expansion. Just thought I'd point tha out.)

Re: Problem changing language. [SOLVED]
Everytime when you change to another language you create a new file in:
C:\users\Documents\Electronic Arts\
When your original language was english you will see a folder The Sims
When you changed to French there will be a folder Les Sims.
When you go back to English again all your old sims, houses etc. are back.

Hi, thanks for the quick answer!
You are right, when I change back to English, my old game is back
And I do have those two folders, I just didn't know where to find them. How nifty.
Thanks so much!

Welcome to the Forum and sorry for the belated reply,
Meanwhile the system for changing the language has somewhat changed, for the newer TS4 DLCs. See the post here:

Other than that, have fun with the game and feel free to open a new topic anytime again you need advice! Problem solved, topic closed.
