Cannot marry Sim in your employment [BUG].

Hi! It seems the last update brought me no-end of grief. Besides being now completely unable to use mods and custom content, random Sims are getting an odd bug where I can't marry them. I will have one Sim propose and then when I want the wedding event or eloping, the option is grayed out and reads something like "Marrying a Sim in your employ would be inappropriate. Dismiss them from their role to further pursue a relationship."


These Sims are not in my employment. One is actually Malcolm Landgraab, the other is a random Sim I created.


Anyone have any suggestions?

I have a marriage-related bug as well, but it happens with random Sims so far. A teen Sim is getting a boy/girlfriend, they exchange promise rings, but then as teen adults can't get married. The "Propose" choice in the "Romantic" category is vanished. I solved it with the option "Ask to be just friends", which keeps the friendly relationship the same, but eliminates the romantic progress. Then I make them flirt again from the beginning. That is when the "Propose" choise appears again. Maybe you can find another way around it too?

Marriage...what is that anyhow ?    

Edit: sorry I can't say anything more substantial about this glitch other than possibly waiting for a future update to fix this.

Yeah, It's not your fault guys! But it's those little things that souldn't happen that make the game experience interesting!
