Mass Effect 2 Won't Start

Hello,

Im new and have been struggling for the past few days as to how to start Mass Effect 2. I have been up and down your threads, all over google looking for answers. I originally had 7-zip, then switched to winrar, extracted it, installed, and tried to play.
It goes to a black screen, flashes, then quits saying "A problem has occurred".
I also have updated to 1.02. I have patched with 1.02. I have found multiple cracks, added them, replaced them. I tried starting it from launcher. I tried Turning everything Graphically off in the configuration. I have ran it as and administrator, i have used compatibility with XP pack 2 and 3. still nothing. Its very frustrating. It works on other peoples Laptops, and i know it works on my driver. Intel HD Accelerator. not the best, yet it works. even in a reccomended games section for microsoft. what else can i do?
