1.29 Update Problem. [SOLVED]

I only have the base game and Pets currently on my pc. I have already installed the temp Ultimate fix and its not working. It gets to the neighborhood loading screen and then says Windows has encountered a problem with Sims 3 and crashes :/
Any idea what might be wrong?

I have the same problem. Before you start the game, does it say "It looks like you have installed an unofficial game modification that
does not match your current version of The Sims 3. We recommend that you
either uninstall these game modifications or get updated versions of
them - otherwise you may experience crashes or significant bugs.

Do you want to quit?"

If I click Continue, it does exactly what you're talking about.

I haven't got that error but at one point it did say that I needed the Sims 3 Pets disc and it'd close. But after installing the Ultimate Fix it now just crashes when it starts to load the neighborhood

I've gotten the Server Initialisation error when I open TS3.exe and the Modification popup when I open TS3W.exe

I'me kinda freaked, because I followed the instruction video PERFECTLY and I just don't know what the cause of this problem could be.

I'm pretty good with computers and torrents so I'm positive I did everything right as well :/ I hope someone helps us soon

I just got a new pc and I was so excited to finally be able to run Sims 3 efficiently

Yeah, I hope someone helps us soon as well, I finally managed to rid my game of bad custom content last night, and I was really looking forward to installing the fix and having 6 hours of gameplay, or more. BUT then this came up. Sad

I've found and tested this method myself, I'm currently downloading the one Admin uploaded to have a look at the files and the installation guide to see if there are variations.

The instruction video doesn't apply to the temporary fix.

Hello,
I'm not sure if it matters if some of your games are legit and some aren't. Unless you own digital copies, it might not work with digital downloads because this fix is intended as a no cd for retail versions as to keep the original copy from getting damaged so it basically removes the disk authorisation scripting that wouldn't be present with digital retail copies, obviously.
So far the files in the temporary fix are exactly the same as the ones I used, and I updated manually, no problems whatsoever with my game. I have all G4TW, the complete series.

I tried reinstalling Pets and that didn't work either, it still crashes when I try to load any of the neighborhoods.

Hello,
You are the person that followed the instructionvideo right? In that case, remove the mods folder from the place where you copied them to, and place it in C:\Documents and Settings\your pc\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 instead and try again.

My base game is a disk version, before I installed Pets my game was working fine.

Have you tried playing the game with Pets installed before updating to 1.29, with the crack that came with Pets?

No I have not, I just downloaded Sims 3 yesterday and it updated itself to 1.29.

Hello,
You could try uninstalling, restarting, and reinstalling, but turn automatic updates off in the launcher. That way your game will be version 1.26 after installing Pets and you can test it using the crack found in the files.

If you reinstall, that problem should go away as long as the game isn't updated to 1.29 and as long as the crack is in the right place.

Are you using other mods? If so, try disabling them for the moment, there might be a conflict.

I had other mods in the folder yes, custom content such as makeup, furniture, accessories, but most of my game mods were Twallan ones.
I tried playing with all in, didn't work, took them ALL out, no difference.

The ones from Twallan should be compatible anyway since the temporary fix uses his noCD mod.
I'm kind of running out of ideas for the moment to be honest.
But as I'm looking back at previous replies, I see you have only downloaded stuff packs and all your expansions, including the latest one, are legit. Are they disks?

I have applied the new (Temp.) fix and I have all the Expansions and Stuff packs, but when I'm trying to update the game to the 1.29 version It just tells me "Update: Incorrect file found". What have I done wrong?

julie, i got that, i put the original dll and ts3w files back in the bin folder. i think if you have the crack files in there it wont update.

has anyone any idea on this new crack fix, mine says modification error
if i press continue it crashes at loading. am i best uninstalling back
to 1.36 and waiting for the finished crack.
