Installing Expansions
Good day,
I have the following problem when trying to install all of the "stuff" expansion packs:
Once I open the .exe file (as per step one of the installation guide), a screen appears asking if I want the program to make changes to my computer, after I have clicked yes for that an error appears:
>SetupNew\setup.cpp (140)
PAPP:
PGUIDE:
$15.0.0.498
@Windows Vista Service Pack 0 (9200)
IE Version: 9.11.9600.18538
The other problem I have is when trying to install the expansions:
The first step in the installation guide says to follow the path- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sims\The Sims 3
Although the Sims 3 is installed correctly after following the rabbit hole (a.k.a the path in regedit), under the Software tab there is no Sims or Sims 3 that appears.
Is it possible that I am installing these programs wrong, and if so how do I accurately go about installing them?
Thank you so much for your assistance.

Re: Installing Expansions
Hello,
Welcome to the forum.
That error can have several causes.
If you haven't used WinRAR to extract the files, please do so.
You may also want to check is whether it is 100% complete in your torrent client. If it is, force a recheck, just in case.
You don't necessarily have to go into the registry, only when you run into an error soon after you've started the installation. But if you do, check inside HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432node\Sims\The Sims 3 in stead.
These releases are from a time when 64-bit systems weren't very common yet, I guess.
But again, you may not have to go there at all.
