Sims 3 black screen with sound when Edge Smoothing is OFF Empty Sims 3 black screen with sound when Edge Smoothing is OFF

I was able to run my game normally, but suddenly, one day, I launched it and all that loaded was a black screen with sound.
I searched for help and tried to reset the game. Did it multiple times, tried with and without cc, but it was still the same. Today I just discovered the reason why my game goes black: it happens when I have edge smoothing turned OFF.
If I have the game open and try to change it in the options, it will freeze and if I change windows, suddenly it goes black. If I try to change my Options.ini file, it already starts on a black screen. I want Edge Smoothing off because of ReShade, and it worked perfectly until two weeks ago. If I turn Edge Smoothing on again changing my options file, there goes the game again. I tried to uninstall ReShade, but it made no difference. Google searches showed that everyone had troubled turning Edge Smoothing ON. Any idea of how can I solve this? Please! :$

More info: I'm playing on windowed mode. It works when I change to fullscreen, but only to a certain point, after that the game crashes. Maybe my video card doesn't recognize the game when I turn edge smoothing off? Is that even possible?

Hello,

Welcome to the forum, and apologies for the late reply.

If your desired setup worked fine until 2 weeks ago, the one thing that comes to mind is that you may have had a driver update that is causing an incompatibility at this time.
The solution would be to either roll back your driver, or find out if there is an update to this Reshade software you're using.
