Error updating sims 3:Invalid file found.

I recently tried updating sims 3 to version 1.67.2 from version 1.00.615. In the Launcher it states that the game is up to date which it clearly isn't. I also tried downloading a patch off of the Sims 3 website, but when I try install an error pops up saying ''update error:invalid file found'' Could someone please help? I'm trying to get the expansion pack world adventures which requires a new up to date version. Reply ASAP....

The "invalid file" usually is the crack. (TS3.exe and TSLHost.dll)
Have you tried to invoke the Manual Patch 1.67
Download the patch and double-click on the download to install.
