Basic Question re: Sims 3 Downloads. [SOLVED]

When I download the "Pets (fixed)" expansion pack, it is not already in ISO form.

Do I need to extract the RAR file, then select all of the files and make them into an ISO file, then mount the image, or can I just run the EXE file after extracted.

Hello,

That's correct, we try to avoid .ISO's as much as possible.
You can extract the .rar file as following:

Open the .rar file you downloaded using only WinRar, which can be downloaded from www.games4theworld.org . (If you use any other software than WinRar, like WinZip or 7-zip, the files will get messed up!)When
you've opened the file using WinRar, select áll the files in it and
drag & drop them to a folder on your Desktop. When the extraction is
done, close the .rar file and open the folder on your Desktop.
Now,
start by reading the included "# Installation Guide.txt" and you should
be able to get the game to work yourself. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I'm still having issues (Launcher gets stuck - both when trying to update, and separately when just trying to run the program) But I think that is more of a problem with the source of the installs that I got.

I got all of the expansions and the base from one torrent found on isohunt. Each of the installs there referred to this site, which is where I got the fix and such.

Either way, I think I'll download all of the installs fresh from here and try it again from the start.

I decided to wipe and completely start from scratch.

So, here's my plan of action, please let me know if there's anything wrong with it:

1. Install Base Sims (and crack)
2. Install Pets, Town Life, and Generations
3. Install all other expansions (except for World)
4. Apply Fix
5. Play!

I just wanted to know if I needed to apply the crack from the base sims rar file (as instructed in that individual readme file) before I go on to step 2.
