Unable to start: The contents of your user data directory were created by [6/21/2017]

Hey everyone, 


I know I'm late to the party, but I finally got back into video games so I went and bought myself The Sims 4 at Target about a week ago.  I want to play the expansion packs & I've downloaded them 3 times already, which all have been unsuccessful.   

The first time I did it, the error was that Origin was running.  Not sure if I fixed that problem, but the second & third time I downloaded it I got this message!





I thought I was doing everything right because I've followed the given instructions, yet still I come across problems.  I've spent about a few hours now looking up stuff on the computer and it seems to always direct me to Games4theWorld.  I looked at the most recent posts about this problem & they were created a year ago.  I was wondering if anyone has found a more recent, up-to-date fix?  Or what am I doing wrong?!  Someone, please hellllppp meee!  

Just delete the file GameVersion from Username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4

As you bought the game, it was updated to version 1.31.37.1220.
The downloaded games (sofar) still are 1.30.105.1020.
Deleting GameVersion will force The Sims 4 back to your latest, downloaded, version.

Thank you so much for replying, I'll try that and see what happens!  So the file itself is just called Game Version?
