Sims 3 + Expansion Crash in Buy Mode.[SOLVED]
Hi there-
I've downloaded Sims 3, Pets, Generations, Late Night, and Town stuff. I used the sims fix as instructed, and tried all the listed crashes to desktop possible fixes.
Still, I start the game, things go fine, then I try to place something from buy mode, and "Sims 3 has stopped working"
Help?
Thanks so much in advance for all the torrents
//EDIT
Oh, and I have no custom content, only the game and the expansions i mentioned.

Hello,
You say you have no Custom Content, but what about Mods? Do you have any Mods?
If not, try the following:
1. Go to: (My) Documents\Electronic Arts
2. You'll see a folder called "The Sims 3".
3. Drag & drop it to your Desktop.
4. Start the game and see if it made any difference.

Moved the folder, and I tried redoing the DEP stuff, No such luck. It only crashes in buy mode, and only after I click to place an object.
No mods or custom content, just the expansions provided by you.
it's like a puzzle, I dont want to give up!

Re: Sims 3 + Expansion Crash in Buy Mode.[SOLVED]
oh, it is probably worth noting that upon startup, it tells me
"It looks like you have installed an unofficial game modification that does not match your current version of The Sims 3. We recommend that you either uninstall these game modifications or get updated versions of them- otherwise you may experience crashes or significant bugs
Do you want to quit?"
To which i've just been continuing, obviously. Could there be something wrong with one of the expansion cracks?

Are you sure you downloaded the latest version of the Fix here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems ? If you're not sure, please re-download it, just to be sure.

Re: Sims 3 + Expansion Crash in Buy Mode.[SOLVED]
okay, I just re-tried ALL steps from the to-desktop crashes list, and now the launcher itself is crashing and will not open.
Is that latest fix any newer than yesterday? because I've done all these things within the past weekend.
//EDIT
I tried uninstalling everything and re-installing, maybe I missed a
step. But even starting from square one, i'm having the same issue.
I've
found that changing all the .exe files to Windows 95 in compatibility
mode causes the launcher to crash, so I cannot load the game at all. I
un-did that.
DEP vs non DEP makes no difference.
I pass the system requirements beyond the minimum necessity.

Hello,
Perhaps you misplaced the crack, or you're using the temporary fix. Can you post a screenshot of where you copied the crack to?

Re: Sims 3 + Expansion Crash in Buy Mode.[SOLVED]
Hello,
Sorry about that, its been a busy week here at G4TW and some posts have slipped our minds.
But, there's a new fix available since last week (the 25th), you may want to try applying it. Its also important to make sure your game version is 1.29. Download and use the manual patch to make sure. The error you're getting is caused by a crack or mod that is incompatible with your game version. Since you're not using mods, it has to be the crack.
Once you've used the patch, and the new fix, you shouldn't get the error or the crashes in build/buy mode. That is the right folder to put the crack.
Again my apologies for the long wait. I hope this solves your problem.
