OrangeEmu64.dll error Empty OrangeEmu64.dll error

Post by Guest Mon 11 Feb 2019, 03:07

Hi,

I recently had to re-install a fresh copy of The Sims 4, and I'm having issues getting it to work, namely the OrangeEmu64.dll file. Everytime I try to start up the game, it gives me these error messages:

'Hello Wink' and 'The application was unable to start correctly (0x0000142). Click OK to close the application'.

I've searched for multiple ways to get around this issue, and have added the actual OrangeEmu64.dll, the downloads directory and the Game/Bin folder to all my antivirus exceptions, as well as re-installed the base game and all the game packs multiple times to the latest update, as well as the all-in-one download, still no luck.

I apologise if this has been posted before, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Disable Hyper-V. Go to Control Panel > Uninstall a program > Turn Windows features on or off > uncheck Hyper-V.

If that doesn’t help, disable virtualization in BIOS/(U)EFI.

I've tried both options but still no luck, still have the same error.

I used to be able to run the game fine with no error for months, not sure why it isn't working now.

That's what fixes it for everybody so you're probably disabling the wrong thing.

I see that you listed Windows and Mac OS platforms on your profile. So let's start with this. Are you trying to play on Mac (wineskin or similar program) or on Windows (separate PC, dual boot, virtual machine)?
