New Patch for Sims 4 prior to the release of the Newest EP

As most already are aware, there will be a new EP coming out on February 26 and as usual a patch is issued prior to the EP release. If your game is from G4TW, Do Not Patch, until there is an official release from the G4TW Forum. According to Sims Guru Kate, this patch will be a mod breaker, so backup your mods folder and look for updates of the mods you use. A good rule of thumb, do not patch until a few days after the release, this gives time to everyone to see what is broken or not.

Keep in mind that G4TW will make a release when the crack is out. Crack is made by CODEX group and basing on their previous releases they will make a crack after new DLC is out.

I am pretty sure that such a G4TW patch will be published very shortly after the official patch. Although some people are against my solution for playing the game in between official and pirated patches, I siuggest:

1. Make a copy of your Game folder (name it Game_cracked) en put it in the Sims 4 folder in Program Files
2. Update to the latest version via ZLOrigin
3. Copy the file Default.ini from  Game\Bin to your Game_cracked\Bin folder.
4. Play the game - as long as there is no officlal G4TW patch - via Game_cracked\Bin\TS4 or TS4_x64.exe.

As soon as G4TW publishes the new crack/update you can download the new Game folder and copy it to your install folder of the Sims 4. You can then delete Game_cracked.

That's because it's not considered safe - it may corrupt your saves. And since this patch includes only some minor bugfixes it's not worth the risk.

If you really want to play as soon as possible, just play on ZLO. And replace the Game folder when G4TW uploads it to play without ZLO.

Also a good idea: always back up your saves as well.

If one can afford the filespace, you could have two separate installations of The Sims 4. One on the old patch, and the other one with the newer update/DLC. Admittedly, that is mostly going to be of interest for the people asking "how can I downgrade the G4TW Sims 4, because my favorite mod is not being updated anymore"...

True! I personally make a copy of all the mods, saves and tray files, always.
