Sims 3 launcher error, even though registry keys are fine
I installed The Sims 3 and all it's EPs/SPs today, and the launcher gives me an error whenever I try to open it. The game is cracked according to the instructions, I used the update & crack provided in the #Crack folder. The Sims 3 was previously installed on this computer, however the computer was reset to factory settings. What can I do to resolve this isssue?

Welcome to the Forum first of all,
What does the error on the launcher say exactly? Is it the one where it says under patch version "0.0.0.0"?
Also: did you use the complete collection with the all-in-one installer, or the one with the individual installer?

The exact error I get is ''There was an error during startup. Please see the Log for more details.'' Yes, the game version shows up as 0.0.0.0 I used the complete collection with individual installers.

I'm assuming you used WinRAR for the extraction of the archive file? Although, people have told us that 7-zip works as well, for .rar's.
Can you try re-running/re-applying the manual patch, and then also the Ultimate Fix?

Yes, I used WinRar for the extraction. I've installed the update again and applied the Ultimate Fix according to the instructions, but the problem still persists.The_gh0stm4n wrote:

Honestly I'm running out of ideas, but I'm not yet 100% done.
If you heard from third-party uninstallers like "Your Un-installer Pro" or "REVO Uninstaller", grab one of these. An older - but still working - version of "Your Un-installer Pro" can be found on G4TW's official download list.
So..after installing that, fire up the program and look at the main window. It will list all your installed programs. Look at the symbol of "The Sims 3" (= the base game), and double-click it. Choose "Super Mode" next. Proceed according to the instructions, and when prompted, delete any registration keys that the program prompts you to do.
When done, re-boot the PC.
Now re-install (only!!) the base game, re-apply the 1.67 patch, and then re-apply the Ultimate Fix once more. See if that made any difference.
