How to install Sims 4 1.55.77.1020 UPDATE on Mac

Hi! I'm new to this site and not an English speaker but I'll try to explain.

So I recently downloaded the Sims 4 (and all the add-ons (not from this site) on my Mac, and I noted that when I would download a lot it would show in the gallery but I could not put it in the neighbourhood because it said that I needed to update the game. After a few researches, I found that I needed to find the update. I downloaded the one on this website 1.55.77.1020, but I'm afraid that if I update the sims it will break it since the version that I'm playing with is the 1.44.77.1020.

What can I do to update my game?

Is the update following the same steps on PC and MAC?

You're on patch 68 and we're already on patch 80, going soon to 81. You would need to install every patch in between 68-80, not go from 68 to 80. Since its such a big jump the best option would be to get the full game that is upated to the latest patch: 1.51.77.102.
