Game error (not opening) after updating to Island Living

Hi helpful forum members,
I did a stupid thing... I just downloaded the new Island Living update (thank you for such quick work!) but when installing into my The Sims 4 folder in file explorer (I'm on a Windows Laptop) I forgot to rename my game folder so I overwrote it (idiot!).
Then I tried to open the game and I get this error message:
Unable to Start: Cannot start because required game data is missing or damaged. Please repair or reinstall the game via Origin. 

I always use G4TW downloads and don't think I've ever had an issue with a download or starting the game although I usually do remember to rename the game folder...

Any help greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much for your reply - I actually just re-downloaded and installed and all seems to be working now. I can open the game and I am so excited to start exploring Island Living!


I think that maybe the download process through uTorrent didn't complete properly the first time.

uTorrent doesn't validate what it downloads. So after the download is completed right click on the torrent and select "check files". Or "force recheck", don't remember how it's called in uTorrent. Or just use another client that verifies everything it downloads. I use Tixati.
