REQUEST: "Pageflip" Empty REQUEST: "Pageflip"

Post by Guest Tue 06 Oct 2015, 21:58

Good afternoon.

I am requesting, if you are willing, for you to procure a pirated copy of "Pageflip IV" (or "Pageflip V", whichever one produces SWF/Flash results instead of HTML ones) and and its accompanying PDF-to-Pageflip Book Converter. The Converter is an online tool that requires a serial product key to activate, which makes pirating it impossible without also pirating the ;icensed PDF Converter copy. This accompanying personal download version of the same (which costs hundreds of dollars). The online version can be found if you scroll through the index page far enough. It costs ONE THOUSAND EUROS, and I am NOT going to pay for that!

Although the company already produces a free version ("Pageflip III"), it requires extensive programming knowledge and an ability to construct a file tree and compile a Flash document. I cannot code my way out of a paper bag, so a pirated copy of this program is a neccesity. Christmas is far away and the program is expensive (and I'm not sure which one to get or how to use it), so I humbly ask the masters of piracy that gave me many years of "Sims III" joy to deliver this program to me.

Now, allow me to speak on any concerns that cracking "Pageflip" exceeds your purview of pirating video games. Although the program itself is not a video game, it produces interactive "cyber-toys" that visitors and viewers can play with. The product is playful enough and interactive enough to qualify, at least, as a clickable toy, which, hopefully, remains in the "Games-4-the-World" purview.

Hopefully, I have linked to the resources which you need to successfully develop a pirated "Pageflip" torrent. If you need anything else from me to facilitate this pirate request, please inform me in the subsequent posts under this thread.

Thank you for all your work and, more importantly, thank you for my years of "Sims" fun!

I added that to the request list, however, let me say that it is highly unlikely that G4TW will be able to release a torrent for that. Sorry. But specialized software like that in a cracked form is hard to come by.

Besides, G4TW's focus in the coming months will mainly be in updating the existing downloads, like TS4 or Cities Skylines. Also, there will hopefully be a re-release of TS2 + a bunch of other sims-franchise games.

If you really want or need that program urgently, you might prefer looking elsewhere for a cracked version, or - as expensive as it is - save up for a legit copy.

I don't need the program urgently. I'd like to have it by year's end if possible, but I am in no rush or deadline. I am glad you will consider doing it.

Why, though, would you not want to crack it? If you owned the only functioning "Pageflip" Torrent, wouldn't you get a whole lot more hits when that term is searched? That's good for business.

The request list is very long here, and has lots of items:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1-all-current-requests-read-this-first-please

Also, in many cases, we actually do not crack things ourselves. One exception was the Ultimate fix in TS3, and some other items. Often we "just" repack and simplify existing releases. As for your request, I'm not even sure if that Pageflip-program can even be cracked at all.

From the way you wrote your post (see the underlined part in my quote), I think there is also a big misunderstanding about the nature of G4TW and what we do, so I'll give an explanation here. Smile "Games4theworld" nowadays focusses primarily on releasing sims-franchise games for the PC (Windows) platform, and giving support on it. Mostly on this forum, but to some extent also on the Facebook page. In general this means assisting users with technical problems that come up when dealing with our releases, and also in-game-related support. Everything else beyond that, like non-sims releases, is just an extra.

Also note that Games4theworld does not make any money whatsoever from these activities, so technically we can't be bothered (that much) by "search term hits". This is a common misconception that many users make: we are not a commercial organization. The Games4theworld team is made up entirely of volunteers who do all of this in their (scarce) spare time.

Even if we started caring about search term hits, experience shows that the vast majority of users on the forum are one-time posters, who only come here to get a quick fix/tip for their game problems, and then leave the forum again. New games/software might of course have a chance to attract "new people" to the forum, but as of present, I believe that any additional effort on our part would just be a waste of time and energy.

Sorry if you are disappointed by that, but also consider this from the perspective of me and all other team members. What would you do in my position, given these circumstances ? You will have a quick look at new requests, see if they are "doable", and if yes, then you will work on it if time allows it. Another common misconception is that releasing software/games is as easy as buying some candy. A lot of pre-release testing is necessary in each case, and we simply do not have time to go through the entire request list. A lot of these games are doable in theory, but due to time and "personnel constraints" not doable in practice. I myself don't post here regularly anymore (due to reasons related to real-life), and the same goes for most of the "old" Moderators. That alone should be an indicator that there won't be much, if any, work on that request list.

Again, I'm sorry if you feel disillusioned now, but regarding Pageflip, you should not rely on us to release it. One last thing: one does NOT "own" a torrent release: there is no copyright on pirated games/software. It is common practice that the "scene groups" (people who create cracks for games/software) release cracks into the torrent networks, which are in turn distributed by a number of different other groups. So even if we managed to release this "Pageflip", others would copy that release and release it under their own name. Which is the nature of piracy, however you may think about this.

I'm not disillusioned or disappointed. I appreciate your help and I actually found a cracked "Page Flip" torrent myself.

Thank you for your assistance.

Mod edit: no problem. As your issue seems resolved, I'll close the thread.
