Showtime Problems
I installed the Sims 3 showtime and your fix. The game loads up to the first loading page and freezes.
What should I do?
What should I do?

Re: Showtime Problems
I can't speak for ypendergrass, but I had the fix installed for every EP )and the game was working well) before I downloaded & installed Showtime. I followed the install instructions, but it gets to the loading screen and then just crashes, "The Sims 3 has stopped working." Any help would be really appreciated!

Re: Showtime Problems
I'm using a PC, Windows 7. Yeah, I downloaded the updated fix from the very beginning Sadly it's still not working. I removed all mods prior to installing too, if that helps.
EDIT: I had to clear every file in my DCCache file in the C:\Users\___\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 folder for it to work! Just a heads up for anyone else having the problem. Thank you so much for your help though

Re: Showtime Problems
So you installed Showtime updated when it told you to
Applied the updated fix to each and every EP you have
removed mods
Did you try maybe deleting the cache files after removing mods? I dont know if it will help

Re: Showtime Problems
Same exact problem, everything up to date.
Deleted the DCCache.
Always crashes.
Should I delete all caches?

Re: Showtime Problems
Try deleting the four cache files your folder and see if that does anything. Does it crash at the very start or at the loading screen?

Re: Showtime Problems
very start.
EDIT:
didn't help.
Should I remove all .packages?
That's the only thing I haven't done.
But I installed MS Stuff yesterday.
The day before I installed the latest .package and .sim3pack into sims.
It worked fine yesterday.
Now that I installed showtime, it's all screwy.

Re: Showtime Problems
I removed it and it loaded but my previously saved game was gone. I had another from a long time ago but my new one had achieved so much!

Re: Showtime Problems
Sorry to hear that, you didnt remove anything from the save folder did you? That folder usually has backups of your saves incase your save is bad

Re: Showtime Problems
No I did not. And I think the problem is the NRaas mods I have on it. They haven't updated in a long time so I think something is wrong with it's compatibility and showtime. But they have had problems recently so we will see.

Re: Showtime Problems
if they havent updated the mod then there probably is compatibility issues

Re: Showtime Problems
actually it is compatible with 1.31... but where do i find my version?

Re: Showtime Problems
Your game version is on the bottom left corner of the launcher hover your cursor over the base game icon and it shows you your version

Re: Showtime Problems
I just saw that 12.0 is equivalent to 1.30 so I'm good. I think I will do some testing to figure out what's wrong. Thanks~!

Re: Showtime Problems
So to those out there that use NRAAS's Master Controller mod - that crashed my game immediately. Everything else on my game is fine but if nothing else works - locate your MC and remove it and replace it one file at a time. I have all parts of the MC mod and I replaced it one by one and no crashing.
But first - follow all the others steps:
1. Check that you have the ultimate fix
2. Delete Caches
3. Remove mods
If it's 3 and you don't have the MC mod, then remove all and put in a chunk at a time. That will narrow it down quicker.
@sugar:
fyi, I restored all the caches and I have my save file back.
I don't know why but it is fine now. ^^

Re: Showtime Problems
So, now I'm at a loss. If I download Showtime, do I need to down load the fix too, or does Showtime come with the fix?
And after I download and install everything do I have to delet this and that for it all to work?
All I want is to download Showtime and play my game.

Re: Showtime Problems
You could download Showtime but i would also download the Updated Fix and apply all the new fixes just in case. I applied every single fix and my game didnt give me any problems

Re: Showtime Problems
Hello,
Actually, if you managed to install Showtime all you'd have to do is apply the crack that came with Showtime. The files in the fix are original files for the most part, that you need to overwrite any cracks you may have used in the past before you can update. The actual crack (#crack folder) is the exact same one from Showtime, so if you have that EP from G4TW, you don't need the fix. The fix is for people who don't want Showtime, but do want to install the latest patch.
A lot of compatibility issues will be caused by outdated mods, so remove the entire mods folder from My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 and try the game. Alternatively, you can also remove the The Sims 3 folder in its entirety by copying it to (for example) your desktop an removing it from My Documents\Electronic Arts. This will also effectively take care of bad cache files since the game generates a new The Sims 3 folder when you start the game.
If it works, you can simply copy your saves folder from the The Sims 3 folder you copied to the desktop and paste it in the new one.
