Spam

Ok so I know this is probably going to sound a little weird.
How the
am I going to get rid of spam?
I have 3 emailaccounts (all hotmail), I've had my main account for over 9 years and the secondary for over 5.
I've been using the internet long enough to know that it's a bad idea to leave your emailadress everywhere and I can safely say that I don't.
Then how is it, that my main accounts' junkbox is overflowing with 25 spams a day on average, but I never receive any spam in my other emailaccounts.
And it's not just the spam, but its always -spam.
housewives looking for you (whatever)
"Lindsay" wants to talk to you (not interested)
Join " book" now (no thanks)
Viagra now 20% off (don't own the equipment so, never mind)
Give her something "big" (ditto the previous one)
Now I know what you're thinking. Or at least I think I do
but no, I don't. Honestly, a huge waste of time.
I keep blocking all of these senders and never (EVER) reply to spam like that but it annoys the out of me to have to clean up my junkbox on a regular interval.
Is there any way, at all, to get rid of these ridiculous emails? Aside from abandoning my emailaccount lol.

Looks like your husband has been using your e-mail account, without your knowledge. Just saying.
Now, to get to the point; the one(s) you receive spam on, did you use
them to register on websites? Doesn't matter what kind of website. Maybe
even Youtube, so to speak.

Well I seriously doubt that he would, he's not careful enough to delete browser history, drafts, sent messages etc. besides I have no reason to mistrust him.
If he is watching "adult video's" I couldn't care less, but could this be caused by being logged on to google chrome? Since it's this particular emailaccount I'm getting all this spam on.
I have used this emailadress to register at numerous websites. Forums, blogger, youtube indeed, some newsletters. But, that's true for the secondary account as well. Which is why it makes me wonder about being logged on to google chrome, "adult video's" being watched occasionally, cookies, I don't know, just speculating.

The thing is that there are some websites which somehow make you receive spam, after registering there. I don't know whether they sell those e-mail addresses or just have bad database security. Once your e-mail address shows up in one of these "spam communities", you'll probably keep receiving spam for the rest of your life, lol.
Now, are you really sure you never posted it somewhere in plain text? Since "spammers" use website crawlers to automatically look for e-mail addresses in plain text, maybe even in the website's HTML code. Those automated things will detect all e-mail addresses and make things a lot easier for spammers.

Oh yes I must've left my email on forums. I'm getting 3 hits on Google when I google my emailadress, so that might be it.
You can log on to google chrome with your emailaccount. To keep a number of personalized settings safe like, the theme and "most visited" webpages. If I log on to chrome at any other pc I'll have my own settings.
But oh well if I'm doomed to receive this nonsense, I'll just keep deleting it.

Hello,
Don't forget to mark them as "Spam". Then go to your "Spam" inbox, select them all and choose "Block from user..." from the "Clean up..." drop-down menu.

Yes, that's what I always do. Blocking them seems to slow them down for a day or 2.
