Hello,
Do you have the base game installed? You don't usually need our version of the base game unless you're using a Steam download, or a modified installer.

No i dont have a base game installed. I uninstalled my sims 3, 1 year ago! I broked my original The sims3 Cd, i downloaded the sims 3 on torrent now!

Hello,
Perhaps there are leftover folders present, or something in the registry.
Try having a look with an uninstaller like YouruninstallerPro (available here) and if that doesn't help, you may have to search your pc and registry manually.

How the hell has the setup detected version 1.17

Hello,
That's what we're going to find out. I have a video for you that shows you how to check the registry. It's about a start up error after uninstalling 1 or more expansions, but the same thing applies for the base game. Use the video to go through your registry looking for The Sims 3.

Ok, do a search of all files and folders for the word sims.
Only the files you downloaded should come up. Any other files and folders can be deleted.
