Barnacle Bay Freeze/lag issues
Hello!
I'm a big fan of your work and have everything Sims 3 related. I have some custom content/mods, but never had an issue until I moved one of my families to Barnacle Bay. It's almost a nightmare now, as I've never had issues with lag that couldn't be fixed with resetsim and NEVER had a problem with freezing until I loaded Barnacle Bay. But don't misconstrue, I've had it installed for quite some time, but this is the first time I've loaded it to play.
The lag is moreso a split-second pause every few moments, even with resetsim, and the freezing keeps the sounds and things like water ripples going but my menus and sims are all frozen. Task Manager sees no issue with the program, and I've read elsewhere that most people have issues with Barnacle Bay.
I also have a higher-end system, with 12 GB of RAM and a 3GHz 64-bit processor. That coupled with having no issues with any other city, including Lunar Lakes, has made Barnacle Bay, at worst, unplayable and at the least not as fun as the rest.
I don't really wanna move my family, as it fits the aesthetic I want them to have, but some advice would be nice.

Hello,
There are a number of things to try here.
It could just be that you're experiencing severe routing issues.

Re: Barnacle Bay Freeze/lag issues
EA worlds are quite known to have crappy routing problems or strange places where sims get stuck, causing a lot of lag and hanging, As far as I know, the store worlds have not been fixed with the strange routing or the insanity with them. It could be that or it could be your PC, not a lot of computers or graphics cards are able to handle a large world with a lot of lots, so you may have to find smaller worlds to work with (don't be sad, Smaller worlds are actually more fun to play and are the same fun as larger worlds)
