My (game) PC setup

Hey there,

I was building a custom build computer. Some requirements...:
- Microsoft Office tasks (word, excel etc)
- Gaming newest games on medium (so the very new games can be played on low)
- Multitasking in such a way I can open 20 tabs on Chrome, have MSN opened, have some office open, background applications open all at the same time. I made myself used to not shutting my applications but just opening new ones. I can't deal with no multi tasking on such a level
- Doesn't require a legit windows 7. I have them lie around here.

Should have a good cooler so it doesn't overheat while gaming.
I searched for 15 mins and searched for components. I got this:

Now this is quite much for me, I won't have the money soon but I'll save it up. Now, is this set up compatible with each other? I really have no idea. I picked a site with custom pc's and just googled on their names to get is cheaper.
On that site (http://gamepc.nl/game-pc?tab=configuratie#samenstellen) I got this set up to €950,-, only to take in count my set up has no virtual drive (have em lying around)
Will it be easy and safe to put this together in the PC box (lol'behuizing')?

Let's see, did you put your PC together using that website? If yes, that one should automatically check for compatibility. If two or more components are not compatible with each other, you should get a warning.

It's safe and easy, as long as you know what you're doing, lol. It's hard to tell like this, depends on your experience. There's no harm in having an experienced person watching over your shoulder.

Yeah well, my brother installed his network card, which I think belonged in the motherboard. If every component just goed like that it must be okay. Else I have to pay 50 euro's to make it fit.. But, is this set up a good one? Does it make a fast computer? How is the videocard? If you don't know never mind, I have no idea if you are used to such questions or know much about this topic. If not I will just ask to another forum, it's no big deal

Well, I built my own PC a few months ago, so I should be able to help.
Now, I recommend a CoolerMaster PSU (Power Supply Unit/Voeding), since it's very important you have a good quality PSU, if you don't want to damage your PC.
I assume the CPU is "boxed"? (So it comes with a cooler included?)

Are you sure you need that much RAM?
Lol, don't worry about the videocard, it's pretty hardcore.

No idea if that much ram is needed, else I can also choose 8 GB, but I know that with my 4 GB ram now, only minecraft, and as far as I know is quite a soft game, uses it all up. So if I would go playing COD it will probably fill up 8 also but I don't know.

Coolermaster Silencio 550 is Cooler master right? I have no idea if the CPU is boxed. Where can I check this? What if it isn't boxed??

I meant the PSU, so the voeding. That's not a CoolerMaster in your case, right?
16GB is way too much! And don't underestimate Minecraft, it's a pretty heavy game. 4GB RAM is more than enough for nowadays games. 8GB is really the max you should get for now; you can always upgrade later. 16GB is good if you want to do a lot of professional video editing and stuff like that, but I assume you won't be doing such things.
CoD is not a heavy game at all, only Black Ops requires a little bit stronger CPU, but with the i5 you've got, you should be all right. Especially in combination with your GPU... don't worry!

Go to the link where you want to get the CPU from. In the description or in the title it says something like "boxed". If it isn't boxed, you're still good, because I see you want to buy an optional CPU cooler too. So even if your CPU would come with a cooler, you're not going to use it anyway, right?

Well, on the site I wanted to order the set a cooler was set automaticly. So I just googled for that cooler :p

You're welcome. But keep in mind that a lot of things have changed by then. Especially the prices and the models and stuff. Something that looks new now, may be old by then.
Anyhow, yes, 600-700W should do just fine. If you want to be 100% sure that everything goes smooth, go for the 700W. The 600W should do just fine too though.

Does that go so freakin' fast? I actually planned the PC to play the newest games for the coming 2 years or more. Or atleast being able to use the pc for 5+ years.. Hope that is working out..

Yes, technology goes quite fast!
With your PC configuration you should be good for a lot of years, don't worry about that!

I see, well, I'd need another motherboard right? Because I was told a motherboard must be equal to the processor. What would I need for AMD? I see it's cheaper - found a freakin' 8 core 3,6GhZ for €180,-. Guess it's equal to i7? the Gigabyte 990 FXA-UD7 motherboard is mentioned in a review of the processor. Also expensive. Can you help me find a motherboard which is enough for my requirements? I am not familiar with AMD. Go work now, I'll also look later.

After this holiday I (hope I) have €800,- available. It may be some more. I can substract the VAT (BTW?). I will calculate everything this afternoon and hope I can build a very good computer. I'll leave a note of the result and if I need help I'll post it

You can only subtract the VAT if you own a company or need the computer for your workplace.
If someone else is going to subtract it from their business, watch out, they may get problems. One may ask why you need such a fancy PC for business, when there are cheaper alternatives, if you understand what I mean.

It will be fine, I may hope my parents know what they´re doing, as I am not the one owning a business but both of my parents are. I'm going to look for the cheapest alternatives, which do fit to each other, and be just as fast as the expensiver ones.

So, I googled around and found a site which has a large, huge stock on hardware. Looked a little and came up with this. I searched on AMD matching so it's compatible with each other. I Hope that went well. Saved up on the case, I have no idea if that is actually possible.

As you can see it isn't really very expensive and I CAN possibly order it all from the same website which is safer than from different sites.
Is this 'something'? €810 is affordable and IF it isn't possible to substract VAT I can afford it still, atleast I assume it's incl. VAT.
(noob)question: You have to connect the components with eachother, right? Do the components usually come with those needed cables? Or do I need to search for those cables (which would be a hell job..) to connect 'em? I can understand you need to buy an adapter, that's no problem I probably have one already.
And what about this one? It's build already and is just as expensive;

As I see it has a much worse videocard and less RAM, but a better processor. The videocard scores a 6 where my chosen card scores a 10...
