Confusion, The Sims 3 pets and showtime.

Hello,
I've scouted through several threads that had similar problems to mine but it isn't making any sense to me and the problems seem to be different to mine.
Basically I downloaded the Sims pets torrent along with the showtime one from games4theworld.org
I followed the guide to the best of my knowledge and I still seem to be having problems. My sims launcher is already at 1.36 so when I refresh the update obviously there are none, I'm new to cracking and such so am not aware of how to do a manual update?
I'd appreciate any help you can give and understand I'm probably doing something idiotic.

Update: Ok so I finally got the games installed. The pets shows up on
the game launcher but not showtime. Also the game loads to the menu
where you select the town but nothing works from there?

And that version is correct, it's the launcher version. A number made up of the expansions you have installed and their individual patch levels and the base game patch level. The patch level you're interested in is viewed like this:

Ok so I've installed the manual patch and now the game is asking for the showtime disc. Do I need to get a mount?

You need to apply the crack from the fix. That'll make the game run without mounting anything or using a disk.

Ok the game loaded this time but only to the screen before the town
select. Then it crashes and says "the sims has stopped working trying to
resolve the problem
