avoiding the 1.38 patch. [SOLVED]
I'm having an issue trying to avoid going to 1.38. I open the launcher
and it says 1.38 available. I have the base game installed but when I
follow the instructions on how to correctly install the sims 3 ---
1. Install The Sims 3 and all expansions you like, but install AT LEAST one of the following expansions: Diesel Stuff, Katy Perry Sweet Treats, Showtime, Master Suite Stuff, Pets, Town Life Stuff, Generations.* (You may skip all the "# Crack" folders. You DO NOT need to use any "# Crack" folders!)
2. After you've installed all the games you want, download and apply this manual patch: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v133-fix-manual-patch
I
cant get past step 1. I go to install an expansion pack and it says I
need to update first. It will update to 1.38 so how I can avoid this?!

Hello,
That's easily solved by doing the manual patch mentioned in step 2 right after the base game, then install the expansions. You'll get a message that your base game is more recent than the expansion you want to install, but you can ignore that message and proceed anyway.
When you do the fix, skip the part where you use the launcher to update.

before i start - after I do the manual update -- I will begin installing an expansion pack.. should i do any in a specific order, or is there one that should be first?
also, after I install an expansion pack, should i install any updates for that expansion pack? exclude the 1.38

Hello,
No it doesn't matter at all. The expansions don't have to be patched separately, but it is recommended to do the same manual patch again after you finish installing everything, and before copying the crack.
