Installing Generations: SETUP NEEDS THE NEXT DISK??

Hello to all. I've been searching through guides and forums all evening, but...

Can anyone help me understanding my problem?

When I start installing Generations it says that SETUP NEEDS THE NEXT DISK (Please insert disk 1 that contains the file gamedata\content_version.txt.) and than it allows me to browse... Is this okay? What should I do?
Oh and also, is it normal that my sims launcher doesn't start yet so I can't update?

Where did you get your copy of Generations?

For updating to the new patch level and fixing the game to run you can follow the steps listed HERE

"Generation" just like the other expansions I downloaded in one torrent. And I followed the installation guides given there wich lead me here.

The link you gave me I read couple of times already. It only tells what to do after one have installed generetion.

How did you open the file? Mount it? Extract it? Just run an .exe file?

Hello again, firstly I extracted it and than started Sims3EP04Setup.exe. As it was said in Installation Guide.

Hi, I used PowerISO. If you are asking exacly this... (Becouse I'm not sure I understood what to answer). I installed this program becouse it was given in the same torrent where The Sims 3 with all those expansions were.

You need to use WinRAR to unpack the rar files, it can be found HERE .

Once unpack with WinRAR go HERE and follow the steps exactly as written

Thank you, but again I have already read that guide for 1000 of times and yes, I used winRAR.

So, recent news. I have now succesfully installed Supernatural instead of Generations. But the launcher still doesn't seem to be working. I tried both launchers, original and "TS3EP07.exe" one. Each of them gave me an error. I have cracked the game correctly as it was said.

I know that. After I was done with poweriso I then had to deal with winrar file. But I don't have a chance anymore to show you that winrar picture of Sims3 Ganaration, I can't find it. Anyway, the basic form in wich I downloaded sims in the first place was this.

Thank you so much for helping me, but why then this exacly program (poweriso) was recomended to install and was added in the same torrent with Sims 3? I didn't have it in the first place. And as I understand now, PowerIso was the reason I failed installing.

Oh, I see now. If PowerISO was included with the download, you did not download an actual Games4theworld download, but a repack, made and uploaded by someone else!
In that case, I really recommend you re-download the Games4theworld version of Generations from either www.games4theworld.org or www.thepiratebay.se/user/games4theworld . That way you're 100% sure it comes from Games4theworld and no other uploader.

Alrighty! But how about other expansions and the general Sims 3? Should I redownload them as well?

Only the ones that actually give problems.
Though you could also try to re-extract them, using only WinRAR and not PowerISO or anything else.

Well, here I am here again. I decided that I would more prefer to download and install Pets and Supernatural, rather than generations, all in all, there shouldn't be difference in sequence, right? To make Sims 3 start it only metter that atleast one of those were installed. Tell me if I'm wrong. So, why does errorist keep winning? The launcher tells: "There was an error during startup. Please see the Log for more details." (that's what the legal launcher says) Another launcher just gives me and error without even allowing to see the blue starter of sims... Could anyone tell me why I keep failing at starting the launcher?

Did you move, rename or remove any of the installation folders? (The folders where you installed the games to)

Yes, I firstly extracted files in C disc, but I then moved the information into other folders in E disc and there I installed the game. After a while I though that maybe moving folder electronic arts to E disc would also help me. But, well, it didn't. Should I reinstall all Sims or what?
