SIMS 3 Ambitions - Patching 4.3.4 to 4.5.6 Issue. Invalid File Found?

Yup it's me again, long time no see. Ambitions has been working tremendously thanks to you guys, but I've lost wifi connection for the past couple of days months through the launcher. Just got it back on today and noticed that my game needed to be updated. So since I can update now I tried updating the content, only to get the following error:





By the way, The version that I have is Ambitions ver. 4.3.4.008001

I also tried to look through these forums for an answer, and read something about the lastest cracks for sims 3 ambitions, so I downloaded that, replaced the files in the game/bin folder and it still gave me the same error as above.

I don't get it. Perhaps I'm using a different version? After "Finishing" or rather, "canceling" the update by clicking "finish", It then tries to update version 1.15.034 of the Sims 3 (the base game I think?) to 1.17.60. Which also fails, saying:

Update Error: Invalid file found.

-sigh- Any idea on how to fix this? I really hope I don't have to reinstall EVERYTHING...

I think I have a solution which doesn't require you to reinstall everything. Which expansions do you have?

If that didn't work, I'm afraid you have to do the following:

1. Completely uninstall The Sims 3 + All expansions.
2. Restart your PC.
3. Reinstall The Sims 3. DO NOT APPLY THE CRACKS!
4. Install WA.* DO NOT APPLY THE CRACKS!
5. Install HELS.* DO NOT APPLY THE CRACKS!
6. Install Ambitions.* DO NOT APPLY THE CRACKS!
7. Install Fast Lane Stuff.* DO NOT APPLY THE CRACKS!
8. Install Late Night.* DO NOT APPLY THE CRACKS!
9. Update the launcher to the latest version.
10. Apply these updated Cracks: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/fixes-f18/the-sims-3-latest-cracks-download-t656.htm
11. The Game should work fine now.

Ok, sorry, I'm afraid you'll have to reinstall like described above.

Okay will do. I'll keep you guys posted on whether or not it solves the issue.

Just finished installing. Late night runs great! But only if I Click on it's TS3EP03.exe file. The Launcher seems to be having issues. as it shows no text:





But I'm more concerned with the fact that it's trying to update to version 6.1.1. Is there a patch from games4theworld available yet? Or is there another alternative? Of course as you know I've tried to get the patch but ran into the usual Invalid file found error.

If you reinstall everything and don't apply the Cracks, you should be able to Update without the "Invalid File" erorr. So like this: (See step 9)

We do not have the 6.1.1 Cracks yet, so you'll need to wait for the new Cracks, I'm afraid.

Ah, okay. I believe i have installed a crack or two in WA, because I didn't really know how to install it without the cracks. So anything that deals with the Crack folders I should just ignore correct?

I also should note that I was able to install ALL of the patches from the "Updated cracks pack" That you gave me. The problem is that I cannot download the patches from the official website (6.1.1. being installed by clicking on game updates for example). Just wondering if that was normal.

Yes, just skip all the "Crack" steps.

You don't need to Download the updates from the official The Sims 3 website, but through the "Update" -tab in the launcher. When you've Updated to the latest version, you need to apply the Cracks for thát version of the Game you have.
