can't run the sims3. [SOLVED]

hi there,

i have a problem running the sims3, i used to run it on windows 7 64-bit but now after i changed my windows to 32-bit, this messages appears when i try to run it>> unable to start game, service initialization failed (0x024e424f)

i tried to download the fixes in the site but when it comes to updating the launcher it says>> the installation is incomplete and the sims 3 cannot run. please reinstall and try again

i have the sims3 generations, late night, fast lane stuff & outdoor living stuff, & it worked fine before,
please help

It might be a stupid question, but are you 100% sure it's the original DVD/game or is it a pirated/copied disc?

i am sure it's not the original DVD, but as i said it used to work on 64

Not original? Then let's assume it's a modified installer.
I'm afraid your PC doesn't recognize that one as a separately installed game! This blocks you from installing any expansions.
The only thing you can do to fix this problem, is installing a non-modified version of the base game that is recognized by your PC, for example the Games4theworld version.

i'll give it a shot but i'm afraid it'll take at least 3 days, but it's worth it

so i downloaded & installed the base game & it works fine but after installing the expansion packs & following the steps, i get this>> your game is incompatible with the expansion packs please update your base game using the game launcher (even though i already updated it using the patch you gave me)

& when i try to run the launcher it says the sims 3 launcher has stopped working
i guess i'll just re install the windows & save you the trouble

Reinstalling Windows is a good option to boost performance, but I'm sure we can fix this problem without such a drastic step though.

Let's see, can you tell us where you got all your separate games from?

i downloaded supernatural from Games4theworld & so as ambition, the rest i got them on DVDs

sorry i didn't have internet connection in the past few days, anyways no they're not originals too

Download the rest from here, so you know you don't have a modified version of one of them.

maybe they are, but the ones i downloaded from here don't work too,

like when i try downloading supernatural it says would you like to update your game? i go with yes & then it says your game has been updated, but still gives the same "incompatible" error when i try to run it

Might be worth downloading the base game from here and uninstalling all your others, and installing only the ones from here.

Or try the manual patch. It might say your game is up to date, but install it anyway, can help solve some problems.
