AGE OF EMPIRES III Empty AGE OF EMPIRES III

Suggest how I would be able to play this pc game if I am not able to load or re-load my save games?
Every time the screen freezes and "GAME PAUSED" remains turning me into a cross of Minotaur and Timon of Athens in the forest. Any idea you smooth***es?
