Question about the game instalation

So last night i wanted to install everything from sims 3 and when i reached Late night it sayd :

"Before starting, please be sure that you've done the following:

-1. Completely uninstall The Sims 3 + All expansions.
-2. Restart your PC. (!)
-3. Reinstall The Sims 3....."

So everything i did was for nothing >.>
So today i read al the read me files from all the patches and stuff and i have a question. in Outdor living stuff it says:

"1. First of all install The Sims 3 base game from www.games4theworld.org or www.thepiratebay.org/user/games4theworld
2. When you're done installing the base game, open "Start", type "regedit" in the search box and
then press [ENTER].... "

It dosn't say instal the patches up to then ... so if i just instal the base game then i can go directly to Outdor living stuff? or i need to instal the patches before outdor living stuff as well?
