Re: Game Question
Hello there,
The Sims 3 is a 32-bit game, so it won't use more than about +/- 3GB of RAM.
Your PC should be able to run the game on lowest settings though.

Re: Game Question
Yeah I saw somewhere about 3 or 4 gb memory so that sims can use more memory than 2gb
As for lowest settings I already did that but it crashes, so thats why I want to upgrade to 4gb I hope it will do better
And maybe graphic card and processor are problem too dunno : /

Re: Game Question
Having more RAM installed then the 2 GB will help The Sims 3, because your computer can use at least .5 GB, so only leaving the 1.5 GB for The Sims 3, which .5 GB is a low amount, can be more like 1 GB, so only leaving the 1 GB for The Sims 3.

Re: Game Question
I had 3 GB (2.75 usable) when I played The Sims 3, I ended background task and used GameBooster, so I got my RAM use down to below .5 GB, so I made sure to have the 2 GB of free for in-case The Sims 3 wanted to use it all. Side-point, I recently got another 2 GB stick from my brother's old Laptop, so I exchanged a 1 GB for a 2 GB, and I went up nothing for usable. My Window's score increased tho in the graphics/aero score.
Debating on how much usable you have, if you have 4 GB installed, still limits to low-mid 3 GB range, so going from 3-4 GB of RAM can only maybe do like .5-.7 GB more RAM, helpful but not really worthwhile if it will cost you more.
If you have 2 1 GB sticks installed, or a 2 GB stick installed, purchasing another 2 GB stick would be useful, so you'll be at 3-4, no real purpose of getting 2 2 GB sticks while keeping only with a 32-bit OS.
