Program stopped working.
Ok, so I played the game 3-4 days ago and it was working fine. After that I accidentally installed sims 2 contents and the game started crashing. I deleted them but nothing happened. I decided to download sims 3 Seasons as it might fix the game, but now it starts loading and somewhere in the middle when it is supposed to let me in the game it stops working. I have read everything in the Internet about this problem, I've tried literally EVERYTHING! Nothing really works. I don't thing it's because of my graphic device as the game was running before that with no problem. So if anyone has some new ideas, I will be happy to hear them ;]

Backup/remove Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3, then retry to play, see if that works.

Did you do Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3? Restore it.

Re: Program stopped working.
Hello,
First, you test the game. If it works, you restore your saves, downloads and mods (if you have any) folders.
With this method, you immediately get rid of everything that might be causing the problem.

Re: Program stopped working.
Yeah it works after I deleted The Sims 3 folder, but it's lagging a lot, actually it's not lagging it's going on great but sometimes it just freezes for 2-3 min and it's very annoying... and have in minds that it's freezing in 1 min ... -.- I can't really play that way..
So now I should restore again that folder, is that right?

Well, right now I don't have any packagaes, my game used to go smoother when I had more downloads... I'm using game booster, and it's still freezing... nothing seems to help from this page..

Hello,
Did you try lowering ALL in-game graphic sliders and then restarting your game?

Re: Program stopped working.
Yeah, now when I returned the Downloads and Mods folders my game wouldn't start again...
And yes I've tried lowering my graphic and I restarted and the moving of the sims really improved but it's still freezing...

Re: Program stopped working.
Well, try to check if all the mods you're using are compatible with the latest version of the game. Then for the freezing, I had that too having all my Store Items in .Sims3Pack form. Try using CC Magic to install your .Sims3Pack. Just google it, download it and then uninstall everything from your game launcher. Then, put all your .Sims3Pack items in the download folder (My documents, Electronic Arta, The Sims 3, Downloads) and run CC Magic. after it rebuilds some stuff, the .Sims3Packs will be gone from the downloads folder.
Just keep in mind, if you wanna install lots, sims or worlds, you HAVE to use the launcher. Anything else, objects, hair etc can be installed with CC magic. All these are mention on CC magic's guide though, so read it well before doing anything and I am sure it will greatly reduce lag for your game.

Re: Program stopped working.
Well, I checked with Indie Stone Mod Compatibility Checker and everything is fine. I guess I should check the .sims3pack files cause my game won't start again.

Re: Program stopped working.
And what .Sims3Packs are they? If it's only store content, from G4TW official MediaFire site, there should be no problem whatsoever. However, if you used .Sims3Packs from other sites (let's say TSR), some CC may be corrupt. I suggest you check the .Sims3Packs before using them with CC Magic or just installing via launcher with CUSTARD (this will show you every individual file inside the .Sims3Pack, so if something is corrupt, you'll know not to use it)
This is an extremely useful program and I use it with combination of CC Magic.
Try CUSTARD and let us know how it goes.

Re: Program stopped working.
Isn't there anyway to check all the files at once cause If I have to review them one by one.. well it's practically impossible cause I have loads of .sims3package files...
//EDIT
So here's the problem I think. I've deleted the Mods folder and the game
runs. I suppose the problem is in a corrupted .package file but I can't
find which one it is cause the viewer won't show me.

Re: Program stopped working.
Well the mods folder couldn't have been the problem if you were only using .Sims3Packs installed directly via launcher. So I have got to assume that you had some other kind of CC or Mod in there in .package format, right?
Just re-download the mods you were using in this folder, make sure it's the latest version and just add them one by one (if they weren't too many) or in groups (if you had a lot of mods) and test the game after each mod/ mod group.
Hope this helps! And also, do not forget to download and apply the Store Fixes from here.
Use both methods described in the guide if you use both .Sims3Packs and .packages. Remember, check the store fixes regulary as they are updated every now and then.

Re: Program stopped working.
Yeah, I have two mods. I'll try to delete them and if the game runs I'll upgrade them. ;] Thanks a lot, I'll write later to report if there's any improve.

Re: Program stopped working.
Ok, so the problem really was in the mods. I've deleted them and the game is running, but it still freezes. I don't really know what to do about that, I've lowered everything possible..

Re: Program stopped working.
Okay, good to know it runs now. As I suggested, freezing can be caused by having a big number of CC. If that's the case, uninstall them from the launcher and then use CC magic to install them again in the game. Trust me, it's worth it.

Re: Program stopped working.
Well, they are uninstalled now. I have only .package files now, no .sims3pack, if that's what you mean...
Guest- Guest
Re: Program stopped working.
Indeed. But CC Magic not only extracts the .packages which are found within the .Sims3Pack, but it also combines all the .packages together, which is basically like having just 1 package, instead of 100 or more. So, all the objects are combined into one package, causing the game to funcrion correctly, without freezing and lag.

Re: Program stopped working.
Trust me, it most likely will. Please update us on the status of your game once you sort out your CC.

Re: Program stopped working.
Yeah, the problem is that I can't really figure out the CC magic program, I mean i've looked for some tutorials, but they are quite confusing for me ..

Re: Program stopped working.
I'll make it as simple as I can:
1. Uninstall ALL the CC you have from the launcher. Navigate to Installed Content, check them all and click uninstall.
2. Find the .Sims3Packs. They should still be in your; My Documents -> Electronic Arts -> The Sims 3 -> Downloads. If you want to install something else, just add the .Sims3Pack to that folder WITHOUT doing anything else.
If you need to download more, our Official Media Fire account has all the store items here
3. Now that you have all the content you want installed (Not lots or sims or world .Sims3Packs cause these must be installed by double clicking them) Just install CC Magic.
4. Run CC Magic. It will automatically import the .Sims3Packs in your downloads folder and make a new folder called CC Magic and also make 2 packages in your modes folder. It's all on its own. you just open the program while having all your .Sims3Pack in your Downloads folder.
It's that easy! It will do the rest alone. Just follow my steps and try running the game. less lag, no random freezes (or at least rare freezes) and all your CC will be in the game!!!
Try it and please let us know how it went. Good luck
