Seasons ver 0.0.0.0.[SOLVED]

So I purchased all the Sims 3 games, except seasons.

Seasons is working fine with a little help from overwatch and mastercontroller, however, in the launcher all of my games have versions, but seasons reads 0.0.0.0.

Is this normal? Or is this causing some of the errors like crashing, lag issues and simport issues?

It's not "normal" but it's not causing issues. This is caused by a missing CD Key in the registry. The only game that requires a CD key is the base game, expansions do not require it. If you want to fix it you can use my Registry Helper tool to type in a few characters (doesn't have to be a valid key) and that'll get the mouseover to show the proper version.

Thanks for the confirmation that is it a missing CD key.

If what Admin suggested doesn't fix it, here's a step-by-step to fix your problem, without causing issues to the other things installed

1) Download/run https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t8929-registry-helper
2) Click "Get Data From Registry"
3) Scroll down to Seasons, and type in a few characters in the "CD Key" box (I like 'asdf' because it's short and simple).
4) Click the "Fix" button
5) Close the tool and start the launcher

OK, I followed the instructions and the game works just fine, but the version is still set at 0.0.0.0.

I'm sure I messed it up somewhere because the instructions say to copy and paste into the expansion folders respectively. I do not have any expansion folders except seasons. The game is running better though, so thanks!!!

I tried the registry tool, but norton booted it.

If this version 0.0.0.0 is not game breaking then I suppose I can live with it.

There's no need to re-do all the folders that come with the Fix.
Also, are you sure you re-downloaded the latest version of the manual patch and re-applied it?

What do you mean by "Norton booted it" ? I don't use Norton, so I'm not sure what you're saying here..

Yes I redownloaded the patch and applied it, although the game prompted me because it said the patch was already there and asked if I wanted to reapply. I did it.

In the ultimate fix instructions, steps #3-9 are asking for files to replaced in folders I do not have. I have the games, but not those folders.

Norton said the registry tool was malware, and deleted it before it could be opened. I'm sure it's not, but Norton won't let me access it.

Alright, well.. here's a more low-level method to fix it if you like:

Right click your desktop, point to New -> Text Document

Open the text document and, if you're 64 bit copy/paste from (1) .. if you're 32 bit copy/paste from (2)
