Hello there,

Are we talking about a Blue Screen of Death here?
Also, where did you get the base game from? Is it downloaded via Origin or is it an original DVD version?

If it's a BSoD it's not likely to be caused by the game. If you're speaking of your PFN file being corrupt, it's 100% a Windows/driver issue and not an issue with the game. You should google the stop code on your blue screen for more information and possible fixes. The "Stop code" is the first set of numbers and letters (a hex number) next to the word "Stop" at the bottom left.

Unfortunately this has moved from being an in-game problem to a system problem, and I'm afraid it's beyond the scope of this forum [or, this sub-forum anyway]. All I can recommend you doing, with the information given, is googling the stop code on your BSoD and googling "PFN file corrupt". Other than those two things there's not a whole lot that can be done here.

Google is your friend: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/bluescreen-stop-error-0x0000001a/f9b191b6-f2e7-4dff-8451-fd15e3f677a3

And I'll reiterate, your BSoD has absolutely nothing to do with The Sims 3 in any way, shape or form.
